Raftar

“Raftar” is inspired by the nonstop movement of Saddar, one of Karachi’s most historic and busiest areas. The front of the article features the iconic Empress Market, a landmark that represents the city’s old architectural soul — a place where Karachi’s history, culture and everyday life come together. On the back, the design shifts to a busy Saddar street filled with buses, cars, and people moving in every direction. It reflects the real rhythm of the city: a speed, a rush, a flow — a raftar that never slows down. This article is named “Raftar” because Saddar is the centre of Karachi’s movement. No matter the time of day, its traffic, its noise and its energy keep the city alive. The vehicles, the crowds, the tangled wires, the old buildings — everything carries the same message: Karachi never stops. And Saddar is where that movement begins.
